Google Chrome 76 released for Windows, Linux and Mac

Google has recently released their new Chrome web browser update of version 76. Chrome users can update from their previous version to the latest version via built-in updater in the Chrome by simply visiting at chrome://settings/help. While the latest Chrome having version 76.0.3809.87 haven't include any major changes but this bring some significant changes regarding security and privacy issues.

Phase out Flash by the end of 2020

The latest Chrome update again take step to phase out Flash with the new modification. In layman terms, with the Chrome 76, every site with the Flash usage are now ignored. While one can activate by visiting in Setting and whenever you visit any site it ask permission for the Flash. If you had enable flash before, then with the new Chrome it won't be stored or remembered. This change is the part of Google's long-term plan to remove support for flash by the end of 2020 which has started way-back in December 2016 with version 55 by switching Chrome to "HTML by default".

Incognito Mode Detection Ended

The next change in Chrome v76 includes fixes to stop website from detecting Incognito Mode via FileSytem API. In the meanwhile, Google said sites should hold their fire and respect user privacy before undertaking any "reactive measures" such as deploying new Incognito Mode detection methods.
While it was supposed and being told that the incognito mode blocks the site's ability to read or write cookies on user devices to prevent publishers from knowing how many articles and which page the user has pre-visited. In the meanwhile, publisher also found the way of FileSystem API, as whether it is disabled or not to determine the browser mode as standard or incognito. While Chrome 76 prevents the FileSystem API status from being detectable. Indeed "detect private mode" scripts are also out there which are able to detect whether you are in incognito mode or not.
The another change in v76 is about how Chrome interprets Escape key presses. With this update, it is hard for the shady websites to open unwanted popups as said by Google in May.

Switch to Dark or Light Mode based on OS theme

In the next change, there is a way for the websites to use CSS code to automatically detect the theme of OS whether it is light or dark and can switch the layout accordingly. If you are using Chrome 76 on macOS with dark theme and visit any website then website could also switch to the dark theme.
There are also changes in the Setting panel of the Chrome Browser as there is new layout in the left of the Browser, Chrome security updates, chromium based open-sorce browser, Chrome V8 JavaScript engine.
