Google Duo Brings Group Video Calls Feature on the Web

In a recent blog post, Google has announced about its upcoming group video calling feature in their Google Duo video calling app aside a couple of new features which could help people to stay connected in this pandemic. This announcement follows the feature addition update released last month.
Initially, the group video calling feature will be limited as preview for Chrome users. Company has also added a new layout to let you sneak more participants at the same time. Using this feature, you can comfortably invite anyone with a Google account to join the call via an invite link. This feature would come in the upcoming weeks.

This upcoming feature will also bring a new family mode which allow you to doodle on video calls with various effects and masks. While you are reading this and thinking of how to use this feature, here's it come. You have to just make a video call to whom you like to interact, and press the menu icon where you have to choose Family so that you can have the family mode where you can doodle and make fun. But don't do while work, have you? While there will no accidental mutes or hang-ups as the buttons will be automatically disappears when you're in family mode.

The Company has also mentioned that the masks and effects will be available in one-on-one video calls on both Android and iOS, from this week with a Mother's Day effects which transform you into a flower and more effects and masks are on their way.
Google has also added support for AV1 codec which provide you to have the ability to capture special moments in a photo, the option to send and save personalized messages, and increased group video calling limits in the last month's update.
