Honor Band 5 will measure Blood Oxygen Level, Here's the launch date
In the wearable market, Honor has slowly up-ranking and also give a tough competition with its Honor Band 4 upfront of Xiaomi's Mi Band 3 fitness tracker. But wait, Xiaomi also improved their wearable this year with a colored AMOLED display and already created a milestone in this market for selling over 1 million units in just 8 days. Wait a moment, have you heared the Honor band 5 is also making its way with the Honor 9X later this month? So, Can you hope it would be some kind of better or will it give some stiff competition to the easy going path of Mi Band 4?
On Weibo, Honor CEO Zhao Ming has teased the upcoming Honor Band 5. Beside of showing the upcoming fitness band, they have also illuminates on one of its new upcoming features. The new Honor Band 5 have pretty much same kind of design like of the past Honor Band 4 - having the color OLED display and circular button below it. As of now, we can't compare the software experience of Honor Band 5 and Mi Band 4.
There is a feature that could definitely grasp the attention of the buyer for Honor Band 5 - Blood Oxygen level detection. Ofcourse you read it right, Honor Band 5 will carry a new sensor to measure the SpO2 levels alongwith the standard heart rate sensor.
This SpO2 level tells about the amount of oxygenated haemoglobin in the blood and according to the Zhao's post, this will be handy to detect fatigue and listlessness, poor sleep and even dizziness as these all happened due to low saturated oxygen level in the blood. This feature isn't really new feature as already lock its position in the previous Galaxy S and Note series smartphones while this feature is new to the budget fitness tracking bands family.
Last year, Honor Band has launched alongwith the Honor 8X in Chinese Market and as per this and Zhao's tease, we are speculating that the Honor Band 5 will launch along side the Honor 9X. This smartphone would be unveiled in China on 23 July and feature an almost bezel-less display alongwith the pop-up style based selfie camera and a dual camera setup on its rear side.
