How To Enable Dark Theme on WhatsApp Web Before Official Release


If you have fall in love with the Dark Theme on your gadgets then you must have dark mode enable on your WhatsApp as it got there early of this year. While the company seems to be working on a Dark Mode for its web app over past few months. Since the company has not officially rolled out the dark them for its WhatsApp Web while there is a leak surfaced online about enabling the same.
This has been first reported by a WABetaInfo reader and shared by the tipster online earlier this week. So, if you want to get your hand on it then you just have to follow these:

1. Visit web.whatsapp.com in a browser window and scan the ‘QR code’ via the WhatsApp Web to log into this messaging app.


2. Right-click anywhere outside the messaging window and select the ‘Inspect Element’ option to see the website code on your screen.


3. Search for the <body class ="web"> string and here you will need to make a minor change to get the dark theme.



4. Double click on “web” to edit the code, change this text to “web dark”, and hit enter to see the new light theme magically turn dark.

The dark theme for WhatsApp Web is not a pure black AMOLED dark theme. Instead, it’s the same dark green/ gray theme that we find on Android devices. It does not look shabby but it isn’t the best dark theme implementation either.
While this dark theme is also not a pure black AMOLED dark theme. Instead, it's the same grey theme as in the WhatsApp for Android. While this change will not be permanent as it can go away when you refresh the window. But you can follow the same steps to get back your dark mode. We completely agree with what you might be thinking of but you should wait for some weeks for official roll out to put dark mode in permanent state.
