Samsung OneUI 2.5 will Or not Push Ads to its Stock Apps : Full Report


A series of reports has come about Samsung's intended to introduce ad on its device with the upcoming OneUI 2.5 update. The leaked screenshot of the upcoming OneUI 2.5 update claims Samsung showing ads in its stock apps and even on the lock screen. Some of the rumors also point out that the Korean tech giant is diligently putting ads on its budget Galaxy A and M category smartphones, not on its flagships like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series.

The report also claims that Samsung has putting a 15-seconds timer ad for which users have to wait before unlocking the device. The shared screenshot has depicted how the banner ads look like in the Weather app and it has claimed that similar ads will also to be witnessed inside Samsung's stock apps like Music, Phone, Bixby etc. It also does claims that Samsung already sent push notifications promoting its other products and services especially on its budget devices.

Such type of ads has been used by the Chinese OEMs like Xiaomi, Realme, and Vivo in some of their system apps of budget smartphones. The representative of Samsung South has also mentioned about their intent of bringing ads to OneUI with the purpose of providing new functions and stable service operation though the advertisement revenue.
Samsung is reportedly to release OneUI 2.5 with the Galaxy Note 20 series in August before coming to the Samsung Galaxy S20, Note 10 and other smartphones via OTA update. While previous leaks suggest that Samsung One UI 2.5 would bring the support for gesture navigation for third party launchers.



But this report in lighted to be false as the renowned South Korean giant, Samsung is not going to introduce ads on the lock screen of its devices as per SamMobile. The former report based on a satirical comment made in Samsung South Korea's community forum which depicted wrong due to the wacky translation tool. While Samsung does pushed ads to its Weather app of South Korea's device owners and based on this information a satirical comment made claiming Samsung could start showing ads on the lock screen.
The shared image of claimed OneUI 2.5 leak mentioned (예시) at the end which actually means "Example" and this one got lost somewhere in some translation journey. Samsung have already pushing ads for its products and services in the notification area since 2015 and you can actually disable that. But the report gone far as claiming ads on lock screen and even for 15 seconds before unlocking.
