Samsung’s New M-Series Smart Monitor with Smart TV Functionality
Samsung has launched two new smart monitors—M5 and M7. The company has mentioned it as the world’s first ‘do-it-all screen’ and included most of the features present in full-fledged smart TVs as it combines both a conventional PC display with a Samsung Smart TV experience. Samsung M5 comes in two variants—27-inch and 32-inch with a Full-HD resolution, and the Samsung M7 comes with a 4K UHD display with a contrast ratio of 3,000:1.
Samsung Smart Monitor: Features
The monitor features a flat VA panel with 16:9 aspect ratiowhile it also has an ultra-wide game view mode that adjusts the screen to 21:9 aspect ratio so that the sports viewing experience enhances. The monitor comes with a 178-degree viewing angle and 8ms response time. Similar to the other Modern monitors, it also comes with an Adaptive Picture mode to adjust the brightness and an Eye Saver Mode to protect your eyes from the damaging blue light by optimizing color temperature .
It comes with inbuilt Tizen OS 5.5 through which you can access OTT services like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO, YouTube, and more without actually requiring a PC and mobile device. You can also use Microsoft Office 365 applications on this monitor without actually working on a PC. Moreover, this Smart Monitor cum Smart TV has also got support for voice assistants.
Apart from these feature and accessibility, this Samsung’s smart monitor will also allow you to seamlessly mirror your Samsung smartphone running Android Oreo and above with the help Tap View App Casting. These monitors are also compatible with Apple’s AirPlay 2. It also brings Samsung DeX along with traditional HDMI 2.0 port and a USB Type-C port which supports up to 65W charging.

Samsung Smart Monitor: Price and Availability
These smart monitors are currently available in the United States, Canada, and China from today. The Samsung Smart Monitor M5 with 27-inch variant costs $230 (about Rs. 17,000) while the 32-inch variant costs $280 (about Rs. 21,000). The Samsung Smart Monitor M7 which comes in only one variant— 32-inch 4K panel costs $400 (about Rs. 30,000). Samsung has not currently launched these Smart Monitor with Smart TV functionality in Indian market yet and is planning to expand its availability to more regions by end of November.
