Huawei Ban : Nightmare for the Chinese company after US companies boycott
2 min read
It seems like that the Huawei - second largest company - is going through bad time from the couple of weeks. It’s all been started after the US Commerce Department ban with the US government order. Because of this ban, the Chinese based Huawei company hasn't been allowed to deal with any US based companies without the government approval. But within few days, US government gives some relaxation to the company for 90 days to settle their business with US companies. Initially, Google has pulled out Huawei smartphones from the Android Enterprise website. While other companies like Qualcomm, Microsoft, Bradcom, Corning and many have moved in the same direction as per Government order.
Now, Huawei is removed from SD Association, so their future phones and laptops have no longer support for MicroSD cards and even its slots. In statement to Android Authority, the association have confirmed that Huawei is removed to fulfill US Executive order. Initially, Google has cut off Huawei's Android license, Microsoft removed their laptop from their online platform, ARM pull down all deals with the company, and mobile networks from Europe and Asia denied orders for this Chinese smartphone.
While the Huawei Mate 20 series introduced with the company's proprietary memory card- NM (Nano Memory) card, smaller than MicroSD. In this context, SD Association's ban might not affect Huawei much while this NM card only supports the recent flagships from the company as of now, but Huawei might make it standard across all its future smartphones.
Beside of these companies, the Wi-Fi Alliance (set and decides Wi-Fi standards) also cut its business with Huawei. While Huawei has voluntarily left JEDEC- semiconductor standard group- that sets specifications for RAM. Apart from this, the Chinese company Huawei is already working on its own OS namely HongMeng. It seems like Huawei might lose its edge over upcoming technologies due to such circumstances. While it’s not a piece of cake to compete against two major OS - Android and iOS as big and reputed companies like Amazon and Microsoft already failed in that path. Besides of all these ups and downs, we hope end-result of the ongoing trade talk between the US and China might not create harsh condition for the Tech-industries.
