Xiaomi Dual-Sided Smartphones Patent with Wrap-Around Display

We have recently informed about up to 7 camera housing in a pop-up camera patent, and here again a new patent has been submitted for two Xiaomi smartphones to the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). There are some mockup renders of the patents outlined in the patent submission created by LetsGoDigital.
In the submitted patent, there are two devices having dual-sided smartphones and screen is wrap around in different direction. They are not foldable smartphones, but their displays extend all the way to the rear. In the first model of the Dual-Sided smartphone, it is wrap-around the screen like the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha Concept Phone. But it is a little-bit different from the Mi Mix Alpha as the latter wraps around both vertical edges and the former has only single side that wrap around. While in the context of resemblance, its layout resembles like Huawei Mate X when it is folded closed.

The second model of the Dual-Sided smartphone has a display which wraps around in a different direction. Its display up and over the top horizontal edge of the device while the back of the sketched model has a punch-hole cut-out for a dual camera setup. The both smartphones do not feature a dedicated selfie camera, but it would be possible that the dual camera setup act as both rear and front as the device is mostly screen.

Neither of device appears to have buttons, but this could be possible that it is only the sketch for general representation of the form factor and the design with buttons and ports may come later. But it seems to be more practical device than the Mi Mix Alpha's design from a manufacturer perspective. It will be very interesting to see the new form factor than the general trend and this will possible due to the new innovations like flexible glass and displays.
