Dark Mode Rolled Out for Google App and Assistant

Google is keep pushing dark mode to large extent for its app portfolio and now the company has completely rolled out dark theme profile for Google App and Assistant on both Android and iOS. While it seems, the changes are server based and doesn't require updates from Google Play Store or the App Store.

However, the dark theme will be automatically applied to the Google app and Assistant if you have already set your system theme to dark or you are using it in night and set to automatically toggle theme. Besides, the dark theme converts the white UI elements to the black and dark grey ones.

Starting today & fully rolling out this week, dark mode is now available for the Google App on Android 10 and iOS 12/13. Users can also toggle among light, dark or system theme inside the General option under the Google App Settings. The new theme option has started rolling out from today and will gradually available for more users in the coming week. Some Android 9 users have also reported about having the Dark Mode option on their handset.
