Nokia 9 Pureview With 5 Cameras Silently Launched in India

A huge and multiple delays, HMD Global finally teasing arrival of its penta-camera Nokia 9 Pureview smartphone in India on Twitter from last week. This has certainly made camera lovers much excited to try out the fascinating camera setup and to be launched towards the end of July or early August. However, the company has quietly launched Nokia 9 Pureview in India at Rs 49,999.

HMD Global's Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikash took twitter to announce the availability of Nokia 9 Pureview. This handset has become available for sale on Flipkart and Nokia's website from today while this meet the offline channels from July 17.

Nokia 9 Pureview has glass body design on both rear and front with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 (on both). This has a 5.99-inch Quad HD plastic OLED display with a massive 2K resolution along with the PureDisplay technology for vivid colors and HDR 10 support.

There is a huge bezel both above and below the screen that look a bit dated while this is also the first display that come with in-display fingerprint scanner. Nokia 9 Pureview is powered by the last year's flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Now let me give you most aesthetic point of this phone and this is also the major reason of huge price tag - Penta-camera. This module includes two standard RGB sensors to capture the vibrant color details and three monochrome sensors to capture a much higher spectrum of light. Each monochrome sensor capture 2.9 times more light than an RGB one.

The Penta-camera on board module here is controlled by a custom ASIC, i.e. the imaging co-processor which has been created in partnership with photography company Light. One of the unique features of the camera module- all five camera on Nokia 9 Pureview work at the same moment when button pressed to create the final image.

This co-processor work in the background to control the white balance and exposure level but the device also uses everything from CPU, GPU to DSR for faster noise reduction and low power usage which literally produces photos with more details, sharpness and impressive depth control. The camera captures photos in RAW DMG that allow complete control over editing and the HMD Global has also partnered with Adobe to make this more simple with the Lightroom app. There is a new camera profile for the phone in the Lightroom.

Nokia 9 Pureview is also equipped with a smaller 3,320mAh battery which is a major down of this device while the device run stock Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box under Android One program. This also come with wireless charging beside the device also has IP67- certification that make water and dust resistance.

While this device is overpriced maintaining the legacy of Nokia in India. In the meanwhile, this device features a premium design, modern feature and Penta-camera that might tempt anyone but also has dated internals and availability of much better and well-rounded smartphone at a much lower price tag.
