Twitter - mature social networking site- has announced its new testing for 'Hide Replies'. This feature is been heard since early this year while it has already started rolling out in Canada.
This 'Hide Reply' provide more control to the provided conversation medium on the platform. This provide hiding the undesirable comments while tweeting about something. But those comments will be not visible to the public until they not click on the grey icon to view the same.
The company said “we know that distracting, irrelevant, and offensive replies can derail the discussions that people want to have. We believe people should have some control over the conversations they start. So we’re going to test a new feature that gives people the option to hide replies to their Tweets.” while rolling out this feature in Canada in an official blog.
A GIF is also attached to the same blog to show the feature with the grey button in action that allow public users to read hidden comments. While this feature is easy enough but even though to hide those of the hateful or irrelevant replies, one has to go through the same and in case if you are famous personality, this would be somewhat impossible to use this feature. But it seems twitter team also knows that and even mention that “by testing in one country we want to get feedback and better understand how this tool can improve before it’s available globally.”
