Xiaomi roll-out MIUI 10 Beta based on Android 10 Q


After launching its recruiting program for the Android Q beta test, Xiaomi’s MIUI team is now ready to release the full-fledged beta to Mi 9 users in China.

After initiating recruiting program of Android Q Beta test, Xiaomi is releasing its full-fledged MIUI 10 beta to its Mi 9 users in China. Users, who sign up for beta testing,would see the pop-up notification for this beta MIUI 10 via OTA. If you don't, then you have to manually flash the firmware manually. Zhang Guoquan, Xiaomi's MIUI head, posted a few sample pictures of MIUI 10 beta running on his own handset which is quite similar to the previous MIUI 9.

In general Android Q will focus on privacy by allowing users to set app-specific permissions even for apps running in the background. As always you should be wary of beta software builds as not all bugs are ironed out and you can encounter issues.

The MIUI 10 beta is actually based on the upcoming Android 10 Q coming at the end of this year. The whole focus of the upcoming Android Q is based on the privacy issues that will make users know about which app have what permissions or there's any app running in the background.
