Xiaomi Might be Working on 256MP Camera Smartphone : Rumors
It is been thinking that 108MP is just killing in a smartphone then you should be sitting down tight at some safe place while reading this. Recently, an unidentified smartphone with a crazy 256MP image sensor has been spotted, according to a Chinese tipster. But, the tipster has unable to identify the smartphone itself, while some online reports are suggesting about a Xiaomi's smartphone by analyzing the camera software capture in the image.
While there is another news from serial tipster Digital Chat Station, who has recently posted an image that depicts the viewfinder of a device with the so called 256MP camera. It is also ambiguous that it’s a genuine 256MP hardware or some upscaled image of 64MP camera used by the vendor.
However, the same tipster has already informed that a 256MP image sensor is already being developed by an unidentified component supplier, in a separate post on Weibo. While it is not been clear about the company who developing this sensor, so we await further for the add up in this news.
In the same context, many are also asking the megapixel war between the smartphone manufacturers that if the additional pixel will provide better photography in smartphones. Many high-end smartphones, including Galaxy S11+, are expected to ship with the Samsung 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor. Samsung 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor is 0.8 micro meter image sensor which comes with a large 1/1.33-inch size that absorb more light than standard sensor in low-light settings. This sensor is based on pixel merging "Tetracell" technology that allow it to imitate big pixel sensors and producing a brighter 27MP images. But it would be interesting to 256MP would really improve the smartphone picture quality.
