Google Duo v87 Update Brings Family Mode, Filters, and More

After Google's announcement about several features to be added to its Google Duo app last week, the company has now started rolling out an update that brings these features. Google Duo v87 has got support for email addresses, family mode and new filters.

Email address Support

With the latest update, users can use this service with their email address. One can enable this feature by enabling toggle on the 'Reachable with email address' from Accounts in the settings of the app.

Users can see the email addresses of the contacts who has this feature turned on. As of now, the app doesn't merge similar contacts so user may witness duplicate entries in the list. While Google Duo still require your phone number to access the app while creating account. Users can't disable calls to one's contact number.

Family Mode

The family mode has also now available to the app. This feature enables you to doodle on your video calls with your participants. To access this feature, start the video call and press the menu icon and choose Family. While you are in the family mode, the buttons will automatically hide to avoid accidental mutes or hang-ups.

This update also brings a graduation filter to the video calls as a positive gesture to congratulates all college graduates who missed a proper graduation ceremony this year due to the ongoing situation. There is also a sunflower filter that has been live since Mother’s Day.
