POCO First TWS Named Poco Pop Buds; Could be Rebranded Mi AirDots 2 SE
Since the acquisition of independent identity, POCO has only launched POCO X2 in India. While the company has debuted its new flagship POCO F2 Pro in Europe last month. This smartphone is expected to arrive India soon while the company is also planning to launch its first ever truly wireless earbuds (TWS) along with the POCO F2 Pro.
The company has been teasing about its TWS earbuds for a couple of months now. We are assuming that the company is right around the corner of its launch as it recently crowdsources the name. Yesterday, POCO India GM C Manmohan revealed the POCO Pop Buds will be the official name of the upcoming earbuds from the company.
If you are aware of what's going on then allow me to let you know. POCO has a taken a poll on Twitter this Monday to decide the name of TWS. A total of 21,416 users participated in this name ceremony. Among those four options, POCO Pop Buds has got most votes which is 42.4% finally. While it is fun to see how the name like "POCO Funkz" not make out of that but it still acquires the second position with over 27% votes.
POCO Pop Buds it is! Thanks a lot for the vote. Really appreciate everyone's contribution here. https://t.co/imGtkS1nzi— C Manmohan (@cmanmohan) May 19, 2020
Well, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 have already arrived in India and Redmi AirDots S will also debut later this month. So, we are assuming that the recently launched Mi AirDots 2 SE is going to rebrand as POCO Pop Buds in India. While it will be interesting to see if POCO launches original design TWS earbuds while we haven't heard of that yet so we are assuming that's not the case.
The Mi AirDots 2 SE launched earlier in China for 169 yuan, roughly around Rs. 1,799. The earbuds feature 14.2mm dynamic drivers, dual-microphones for ENC, semi in-ear design, and touch controls to play/pause music and answer calls. It will also offer up to a total of 20 hours of music playback, thanks to the bigger case.
